Large Pigeon Cage – Escape-Resistant, Automatic Entry Design | Durable Anti-Rust Bird Cage for Outdoor Use

I have a huge pigeon problem and all the yucky stuff they leave all over the walks and windows. I got this bird trap so I could humanely rid my property of them. The trap arrived on schedule and was very easy to setup.

 

It works as advertised and is large enough to trap several pigeons at one time. It is easy to get the captured birds out and to release them FAR away.

The doves seem to be able to work their way out after a bit, but it works like magic on the pigeons, as long as they are baited properly. I put it under my songbird feeder. Caught 5 pigeons in the trap at once

The spot welds broke on a couple sections super cheaply made for what it costs I still haven’t caught a pigeon with it maybe it’s the bright blue color

WE did not know if this would work as we had tried 3 other solutions to our pigeon problem and none worked. We have captured 2 so far and hope to work on 3 more

As soon as I showed the pigeons how to use it, they were very comfortable going in. Just be careful, the hawks will use it as well. Have had 2 separate instances of hawks in my pigeon coop. I have since put a blocker in front of it when all the birds are inside

Very well built, easy to install. While this is intended for pigeons, I am using for chickens. I have hens who decided to lay under the coop which is built in such a way I cannot jack it up to see if someone is underneath. Concerned that a hen might be broody under there, I didn't want to board it up completely. I installed this so any hens could get out but not go back under the coop. Works great!! All hens are now out and accounted for. I will use this again in the future.

We used this cage to trap an exotic pet bird of my neighbors that had gotten out, and flying around the neighborhood for days. She thought there was no hope but then saw this cage and got it. Sure enough she put the birds favorite food in it, I forget the species (it's my brain that needs trapped), and it fell for the trap. Emerald is now back home and safe and sound with her owner. Mission accomplished!Setup was simple, place the trap where the bird was comfortable landing, bait it with something familiar, and then leave it alone long enough for the bird to approach. The biggest factor is monitoring, because humane trapping means checking often so the bird isn’t stuck in there longer than necessary, especially in heat or cold. Placement matters too, the trap needs to sit level, otherwise the entry mechanism can be less consistent and the cage can wobble. Cleaning is easy enough, but you’ll want to sanitize if you’re using it around pet birds, and always provide water if you expect the bird might stay inside for more than a short time. Overall it’s an effective, humane trap that works well as long as you use it responsibly and pay attention.So the cage paid for itself just in the rescue alone (it was an expensive birdy). She had recently gotten the bird though and it hadn't adapted to it's environment yet. I decided to use this for my chicks and it's great! I can stick my hand in but they can't get out (even though they try to).

After I feed them and water them I close the cage at night and they can't get out at all. You can hear them pecking all night trying to get out but they can't.

This cage is easy to take out and put together and it comes with everything as well as extra screws in case you loose one.

That said, I’ve had a couple of “Houdini quails” escape through the bars. The spacing between them is a little too generous, and if the bars were closer together naturally, this would be much more effective at keeping the feathered escape artists contained. It’s not a dealbreaker, but let’s just say I’ve seen a a couple quails strut away looking a little too proud of itself.

 

Setup was smooth, and once in place, it works well for the majority of birds who don’t have escape plans preloaded. For the price and convenience, it’s a great trap—just keep an eye out for the clever ones.

 

Four stars for a good product with room for a few tweaks. If the spacing issue gets fixed, this thing will go from “almost great” to “bird fortress level.”

I love this humane trap for catching pesky birds. It was packed well. The instructions are clear, easy to read and understand. I was able to assemble this in a matter of minutes. The cage is made of heavy duty steel that is wrapped with an anti rust coating. All four sides provide entry for the birds. Once inside, the slats stay closed, thus keeping the birds from escaping. There is a release hatch in the top. This hatch helps when placing the bait in the cage. It also allows you to move the cage and release birds safely. The hatch allows you to reach in the cage and collect the bird if needed. The handles on the top are very helpful when moving the cage from place to place. I am Impressed with the size and quality of this cage. Overall, this is a safe way to catch and release birds without harming or stressing the animals.
